Private Well Workshop for homeowners

NEWBURY – Experts will be on hand to share their knowledge and expertise about proper management of private water wells and springs at the Newbury Town Hall, Friday, August 18 from 9-11 a.m.

N.H. Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) and N.H. Department of Public Health and Human Services will discuss private wells as they relate to homeowners.  Learn more about protecting your groundwater and the issues that can impact drinking water.  Receive guidance on how to maintain and troubleshoot problems with your well.

Households that use private wells must take special precautions to ensure the safety of their drinking water supplies.  Here’s your chance to learn how water gets into your well and from what source. This knowledge will help you understand how to protect your groundwater source and well from outside influences.

The featured presenter is Richard Schofield, Water Well Program Manager at NHDES. Rick manages the state licensing program for water well contractors and pump installers. Rick and Amanda Cosser from the Public Health Laboratories will be on hand to answer questions about your private well and/or spring.

This free informative workshop to learn more about your well and the quality of your water is being provided by U.S. EPA through a grant to the Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP).
